Head Students

The Post 16 Student Leadership team will work with students in years 7-12 and staff to address areas that they believe will enhance our school community even further. They have all selected an area of focus as well as continuing to organise events and fundraise for our chosen charities of: Reform Northants and Macmillan.

Following several unforgettable years at Kingsthorpe College spanning from Year 7 into my conclusive year being Year 13. I am delighted to have been elected into the new student leadership committee, which aims to embody our core values as a school in which I have been granted the role of Head student of Aspiration; we have been offered immeasurable experiences for our educational
development after leaving primary education during secondary school and into A-Levels as well as personal development to be able to grow as a person but always to aspire further into our best selves internally and externally to education.

I am a Year 13 student studying Psychology, Criminology and Business. As Head of Care, my main aim is to make sure every student feels valued, supported, and heard. I want to help create a school environment and atmosphere where kindness and mutual understanding are part of our daily routine, not just something we may talk about occasionally. This role means a lot to me and I cherish it because I genuinely care about the well-being of others and believe that even small acts of compassion can have a huge impact. They did for me when I went through my own battles with mental health. I truly take it with honour to have the opportunity to be a voice for care within our school community at Kingsthorpe College, and I’m committed to making a positive difference wherever I can.

Cadence

I'm currently in year 13 and I am a part of the Student Leadership team in which I am the Head of Respect here at Kingsthorpe College. I take the A levels: History, Biology and Criminology. I am very thankful to be given this role, and I believe I will fulfil it to the best of my abilities to improve the environment of Kingsthorpe College and ensure the extra-curricular activities are to their fullest. Being here for almost 7 years now, I feel I know the school very well and what can be done to help. As Head of Respect, I plan to impact the school in a positive way. I also think it is good for children and young adults to have a role model to look up and relate to. I aim to make everyone's time at Kingsthorpe College both educational and fun, as I believe that it's important for your children to be able to learn and grow as a person by not only learning through subjects but by being taught skills for life in extracurricular activities too, in a positive and encouraging environment.

I am delighted to be the head of responsibility within the student leadership team. I am currently in year 13 and am studying: Biology, Chemistry and Maths. I am extremely proud to be given this role and the ability to make an impact within this amazing school. Having my entire school journey here I know what it means to be member of team KC and know the values that we uphold day in and day out. My focus and goal are to be there for anyone that needs it and supply students with the support they need within lessons and outside through charitable and community events. Being a sixth form students comes with additional responsibilities but i believe every one of my cohorts and friends live up these expectations and are a role model to the lower years from year 7 to year 11. I can’t wait to make an impact and represent my school in any way possible.

David

I’m a Year 13 Student studying English Language, History, Psychology, Polish and an Extended Project Qualification. I joined Student Leadership because making a difference and delivering results is something that deeply matters to me. My past 4 years in the Army Cadet Force have taught me the foundations of strategic leadership, and I ensure that standards are upheld here at our school’s Combined Cadet Force detachment. In my role, I enjoy working with like-minded students where we implement initiatives both in and outside of the school. An example of this includes our current volunteering program which fosters a positive reputation as well as partnership with external stakeholders that support the school. Over the next year, I’m looking for suggestions to make our school better and put them into practice so that our students feel that they can belong to something greater than themselves.

Esther

My name is Esther, and I am currently in Year 13. I am proud to be part of the Student Leadership Team as the Deputy Head of Student Leadership here at Kingsthorpe College. I study Psychology, Sociology, and Health and Social Care at A level. Having been at Kingsthorpe College since Year 7, I have seen the school grow and develop over the years, and I am passionate about continuing to improve it for the better by creating a positive environment for both students and teachers. In my role, I aim to make Kingsthorpe College a more student-centred environment, where every student feels comfortable, valued, and happy to come to school each day. I want to help create a strong sense of community where everyone’s voice is heard, and we work together to make school life both educational and enjoyable. I believe that learning should go beyond the classroom as developing life skills and confidence through extracurricular opportunities is just as important. As Deputy Head, I will strive to ensure that every student feels supported and inspired to achieve their best.
