Rewards
Our Commitment to Rewarding Success
At our school, we believe that recognising effort, commitment and positive behaviour is key to helping students thrive. Our Rewards & Recognition Framework is designed to celebrate a wide range of achievements – from excellent attendance and conduct to living our KC / CORE values:
Care • Aspiration • Responsibility • Respect
Rewards are structured so that all students have clear targets to aim for, with a balance of guaranteed rewards and exciting prize draws. Recognition takes place weekly, half-termly, termly and annually.
Achievement Points – The Foundation of All Rewards
All rewards are underpinned by Achievement Points, which students earn throughout the year for:
- Strong attendance
- Positive conduct
- Participation in extra-curricular activities
- Attendance at interventions
- Demonstrating our KC / CARE values in daily school life
- Achievement Points allow students to track their progress and work towards meaningful rewards.
Core Achievement Points Rewards
Students accumulate points across the year and unlock rewards when they reach key thresholds.
Level Points Required
Bronze 350 points
Silver 500 points
Gold 650 points
These rewards celebrate sustained effort and consistency across the school year.
Proud Table
Every week students are encouraged to submit work they are particularly proud of – whether for effort, progress or presentation. Every week a member of SLT will be looking forward to seeing the work students are proud of. Achievement points awarded to all that attend.
Star of the Fortnight
Every fortnight, departments select one student per subject to recognise outstanding effort or achievement.
Half-Termly Rewards
- Attendance & Conduct Prize Draws
- Each half term, students who meet the following criteria receive a certificate and entry into a prize draw:
- 100% Attendance
- Zero Behaviour Breaches
- Zero Lates
- Each category has a prize fund, giving students additional motivation to maintain high standards.
- Recognition Awards
Staff identify students who have gone above and beyond during the half term. Awards may include:
- Highest conduct points (or highest revision hours in Year 11)
- CARE Values Award (Care, Aspiration, Responsibility, Respect)
Half-Termly Recognition Postcards
Once per half term, staff nominate students for a special Recognition Postcard, celebrating individual achievement.
Tutor Group Competitions
Each term, tutor groups take part in competitions linked to attendance, conduct and engagement. These competitions promote teamwork, healthy competition and a strong sense of community within tutor groups.
Working in Partnership with Parents
We believe that celebrating success works best when school and home work together. Reward emails, certificates and public recognition help keep parents and carers informed and involved in their child’s achievements.
Thank you for supporting our high expectations and helping us celebrate the positive choices our students make every day.
