On the 22nd March we ran a very successful revision evening when 60 students stayed after school to work until 6 o clock. Excellent revision practice was shown on the night; bananas (slow releasing sugar – excellent brain food!) and water were in plentiful supply, and students worked for fifty minutes at a time ensuring they had breaks in between, another essential revision technique to maximise learning.
A talk was given by Dr Fritz, a cognitive psychologist and memory expert, from Northampton University; she spoke about essential revision techniques and ways that students can keep themselves motivated.
The reward at the end of the night was Dominoes Pizza and all students can feel proud of making an excellent start (or continuation for most) to their revision.
