Key Stage 5

For students to continue with these subjects at GCE level they should have gained a grade C or above at GCSE level. (This is in line with the College policy). As with all subjects students study AS level in Year 12 and can then continue their studies into Year 13 and study at A2 level.

Students studying Technology follow the Edexcel syllabus, Product Design – Graphic Products. This is a broad and interesting course. At both AS and A2 level students gain knowledge and understanding of the materials and processes used commercially in the field of graphic products and also look at issues such as technology in society. 40% of the final grade at both levels is made up of a ‘design and make’ coursework and the other 60% from examinations sat at the end of each year.

The Technology faculty runs both pre school, lunchtime and after College workshops that are designed to support students’ progress in the subject.
