Key Stage 5
Within Physical Education, both the L2 and L3 OCR National PE courses are available, studying areas in L2 such as Anatomy and Physiology, Contemporary Issues in Sport and The Sports Environment. Should students continue for the L3 qualification, study areas become; Sports in Society, Sports Industry, Sports Coaching, Psychology in Sport and exercise prescription.
In addition to these academic courses we also run the Community Sports Leader Award - a practical sports coaching qualification – with the new OCR National Certificate - a vocational sports course with industry links and extra qualification opportunities.
Extra Curricular provision
The Physical Education Faculty prides itself on an extensive extra curricular sports programme. In addition to all the national team games offered there are also opportunities for students to try alternative activities such as Aerobics, Trampolining, Table Tennis, and Badminton. Clubs run before school, at lunch and after the College day. College teams are run in many sports and we enter numerous competitions at town, county and national levels.
