Mathematics
Mathematics is one of the core subjects in the National Curriculum. It is important in most other subjects as well as in everyday life and many forms of employment. Our aim is to provide a supportive environment, where students can work and learn to the very best of their ability. Students will have four Mathematics lessons each week in Years 7 to 11.
The National Curriculum for Mathematics is divided into four areas: number and algebra; shape, space and measures; handling data; using and applying Mathematics. We will try to ensure that students make appropriate connections between all these areas of Mathematics and that they are equipped to use and apply Mathematics in other areas of the curriculum as well as within the subject itself.
